SIDEMIX Project

About the SIDEMIX Project

The SIDEMIX project aims to improve the understanding of soil stiffness degradation under cyclic loading, focusing on the influence of particle morphology and the proportion of fine-grained fractions in sand mixtures.

The research combines advanced experimental methods with numerical Discrete Element Modelling (DEM) to better understand micromechanical soil behaviour.

The expected outcomes include improved prediction models and enhanced tools for geotechnical design.
